Reading Pure Christian Romance Fiction is one of the things I enjoy doing, especially authors who know how to string the chords of my heart in the way they spin and twist tales, giving my heart a melodious beat with every story.

Have I always been like that? Oh no!

I’ve been an ardent reader of sexual romance novels since my teenage years. The first romance novel I read was Paradise by Judith Mcnaught. I remember how I couldn’t drop the book, I took it everywhere with me, and then after that, I went on to read every other book she wrote that I could get my hands on. My induction into romance was sealed from that point, but along with it was a battle my mind didn’t envision at the time. I read all sorts of snots and nots in romance novels, the more sexually descriptive the writer was, the better. I had a spec of what my romance novel boyfriend had to look like, I especially loved the enemies-to-lovers kind of romance fiction. 

As a believer, I wanted to deepen my walk with God, but I’d find myself revisiting the very sexual scenes in the novels I had read, or even drifting off during worship, writing my intimate scenes in my head, it was a struggle. It didn’t help that I had an app on my phone that gave me access to as many snotty novels as I desired to read. Then in December 2019, God called me deeper. He wanted me to consecrate my mind unto him. The first instruction He gave me was to uninstall the novel app and delete all the novels I had on my phone. It was really hard, I thought I’d die from the mere boredom of reading educational and biblical books. I had to craft a whole confession for my mind, you can find the link here if you need it. Then after 9 months of romance novel drought, He permitted me to start reading again, but this time pure romance novels. 

Another cycle of frustration began. How was I to get novels that wouldn’t make me have a whole sexual meltdown in my head but also give me the misty feeling of love? 

The research began. Then I came across Francine Rivers, and her story from writing secular romance to Christian romance. Then I remembered I had read her books before she wrote “Redeeming Love”, and I had also read “Redeeming Love” before my consecration journey, so I delved more into her books. She didn’t disappoint, she eased me into this journey well, probably because she had walked this path before. That’s how the journey began.

Over time I’ve received compliments from my friends telling me about how great I am at connecting people with exactly what they need. 

You’ve probably tried reading Christian fiction and felt bored out of your mind. I get you. I’ve been there, trust me, and it’s not a nice place to be.
